Linda Rae Hamilton, 74, of Ormond Beach, Florida, departed this life on September 1, 2020. She was born on August 25, 1946, in Clarksburg, WV., the daughter of the late Ray and Virginia (Bland) Gabbert .
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister,
Margaret Gabbert. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, William (Mike) Hamilton, Ormond Beach, Fl., one son and daugher-in-law, Carl and Jodi Dodson, Ormond Beach, FL., two daughters; Melissa Dodson, Duluth, GA., and Robin Sharpless, Richmond, VA., one sister, Emmogene Collins, Pennsboro, WV., two grand-daughters, five great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Doddridge County High School, class of 1964, and lived in Doddridge County most of her life. She worked as an administrative assistant for the government, energy corporations, and retail. She was a long-time member of the Doddridge County Emergency Squad, West Union Volunteer Fire Department, and Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed attending church, playing piano, listening to gospel music, attending
Gaither concerts and vacationing at Myrtle Beach. She, also, enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved taking care of her pets and telling everyone all about them.
In accordance with Linda’s wishes, she will be cremated and laid to rest at the Bland Family Cemetery, in Blandville, WV.
