Kenneth “Kenny” Cottrill

Kenneth “Kenny” Edward Cottrill, 85, of Big Flint Road passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.

He was born December 8, 1938 in Doddridge County, son of the late Lawrence Burl and Tressie Louise Forrester Cottrill.

Kenny was a 1957 graduate of Doddridge County High School. He served in the United States Army. Kenny was a heavy equipment operator for CNG gas for over twenty-two years. He loved hunting, fishing, riding horses, reading, going antiquing for tools, riding 4-wheelers, and his pride and joy was his kids and grandchildren.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Julie Lynn Gore Cottrill whom he married on July 27, 1983; five children, Timothy Cottrill and Janie, West Union, Gregory Cottrill, West Union, Christopher “Kit” Cottrill, Bridgeport, Tina Cottrill, Bridgeport, Kristen Cooley and Derek, Clarksburg; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Kylee and Dylan, Colton and Taylor, Kennedi and Lucas, Ty, and Quinten; six great grandchildren, Ezra, Eloise, Josie, Ripken, Rawlins, Paisley; three brothers, James Cottrill and Phyllis, Salem, Roger Cottrill, Salem, Rodney Cottrill and Vicki, Nutter Fort; numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Kenny is preceded in death by four siblings, David Cottrill, Robert Forrester, Lawrence Cottrill and Rhea Richards.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home in Salem on Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 3:00PM until a Celebration of Life at 5:00PM.
