Carol Ann Riddle

Carol Ann Riddle, 65, of Pennsboro, WV, departed this life Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV.

She was born June 29. 1957 in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter of the late Earl Clifford and Dorothy Louise Richards.

Carol was a Pennsboro High School graduate with the class of 1975. She then obtained her Associates Degree at Mountain State College. She was a simple woman, she enjoyed puzzles, crafting, the farm, and going to the beach. Carol loved helping take care of people, her animals and her family.

She is survived by her loving children, Jeremy Talkington of Pennsboro, WV, Alissa Cox (Aubrey) of St. Marys, WV, and Christina Bishop (Cory Kerns) of Pennsboro, WV; stepchildren, Tony Riddle of Smithville, WV, Steve Riddle of Pullman, WV, Serena Talkington of Waverly, WV; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Terry Richards (Susan) of Mineral Wells, WV and Robert Richards (Debbie) of Ellenboro, WV; sister, Debby Collins (Brock) of St. Marys, WV; sister in-law, Marcia Richards Flanagan of Florida; and her loyal dog companion, Eve.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 21 years, Robert “Bob” D. Riddle; and brother, Mickey Richards.

Services will be at 1pm Thursday, October 27, 2022, at McCullough Rogers Funeral Home in Pennsboro, WV. Burial will follow in the Fairmont Ridge Cemetery on Bonds Creek Road with Pastor Cecil Chapman officiating the service. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 11am-1pm.

Marguerite Ann Clevenger

Marguerite Ann Clevenger, 82 of Salem passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at her residence with family by her side. She was born December 4, 1939 in Clarksburg, WV, the daughter of the late John Edward and Winnie Pearl Campbell McLaughlin. 

Marguerite graduated from Roosevelt Wilson High School, Class of 1957. She was a homemaker and collector of many things. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Marguerite enjoyed playing bingo and going on bus trips with Teddy’s Tours.

Marguerite is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Richard Darlis Clevenger whom she married on September 27, 1956; four children, Debbie Ash and Leonard, Ronnie Clevenger and Julie, John Clevenger and Marianne, Lisa Stout and Ted, all of Salem; six grandchildren, Jason Ash, Michael Clevenger, Daniel Clevenger and Janelle, Brandon Clevenger, Kelsie Rohrbough and Elbert, Garrett Stout; three great grandchildren, Emmett and Everly Rohrbough, Jayde Clevenger; one sister, Ethel Messenger, Newnan, GA; several nieces and nephews.   

In addition to her parents, Marguerite was preceded in death by one brother Eddie McLaughlin. 

Family and friends will meet at Davis Funeral Home in Salem on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 1:00PM to go in funeral procession to Floral Hills Memorial Gardens for a graveside service at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Burnside officiating. Wilbur “Neil” Stickel

Wilbur “Neil” Stickel, 88 of Bridgeport, WV went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Mon General Hospital following an extended illness. Neil was born September 21, 1934 in New Milton, WV, son of the late Herman S Stickel Sr and Mamie L Ables Stickel.  He married Cretta Swiger on November 7, 1953. He worked at Carnation Milk Co, Ingersoll Rand and last for G.B. Hefner. He loved farming and animals. Neil was a member of Wilsonburg Baptist Church. He never met a stranger and touched the lives of all he met with his sense of humor, kindness, and generosity.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John F Stickel, and Herman “Dan” Stickel, and a sister, Virginia Nicholson. He is survived by his wife, Cretta; daughter, Vickie K Trippett and her son, Craig (Emily) Trippett; daughter, Trina (Mike) Kromer and their sons, John and Tom Kromer; sister-in-law, Linda Stickel; friend, Ruth Ellen Thompson who he thought of as a daughter, his cat Baby and horse Ruby. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home – Salem, 1999 W Main Street Salem, WV, on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 1-3 & 5-7PM. Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Jimmy Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pleasant Hill Church, C/O Lewis Swann 2580 Miletus Rd, Salem WV 26426 where Neil attended as a child and was a trustee for many years. Jacob Thomas America

Jacob Thomas America, 29, of West Union, passed away on August 28, 2022 at his home.  He was born June 21, 1993 in Morgantown a son of Rebecca McCombs and her husband Danny.

He is survived by his three daughters, Skylar, Mary Ellen and Bella America; four brothers and sisters, Jolene Marhofer and her husband Karl, Clarence “Butch” America and his wife Kristee, Angelia Turner and her husband Christian and Kylia McCombs; his step fathers parents, Bobby and Betty McComb; along with several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly

He loved construction and worked for Strait Construction and also enjoyed mechanical work and four wheeling.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Joseph Thomas and Mary Ellen Wharton.
