Doddridge County Commission Meeting — 02/20/24
Commissioner Glaspell called the meeting to order after a moment of silence and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag at 4:03 p.m.
In attendance were: Shawn Glaspell, President, Ronnie Travis, Commissioner, Clinton Means, Commissioner, Lorena “ Catee” Slater, County Clerk, Randee Britton, Executive Assistant.
Commissioner Means motion to approve the minutes from last meeting, it was seconded, and the motion carried.
Samuel C Rodgers, II stood up and introduced himself. He gave a little bit of his background and announced he was running for District 2 Judge.
Commissioner Glaspell explained the Erroneous Assessment and after a conference call with the state Commissioner Means Made the motion to reject the exoneration it was seconded, and the motion carried. (See Page 5 Exonerations)
Meeting date for budget workshops were set for March 12th @4p.m., 14th @3 p.m. 19th following the meeting, 21st @ 3 p.m. and 26th @3p.m.
Jennifer Wilt state the Oxford 1 and Rt. 23 projects were moving forward.
CEC stated both projects were moving forward.
County Commissioners approved $14,500 for Bobby Samples for clearing the banks from Slicks to the Dominion Station

DCAA Report: Current – $222,261.64, Savings: $310,376.83, Income for February — $44,902.11
CoW, David King, stated they are waiting on carpet to finish the Commissioner Room of the Annex (Should be here by 3/11/24). Fire Marshall will do walk through Thursday (Feb.22). Want to discuss scheduling an Open House at the next meeting.
There was 1 Budget Revision – From Gas and Oil Severance to the Prosecutor’s Office cover the new Employee.
4 exonerations were passed.
No Probate Orders to report.
An addenda to the agenda for $5,000 was granted Denny Powell to clean and level the old Doddridge County High School lot to get it read for potential new buildings.
Swiger Logging was approved for Rock Run Creek Clean-up in the amount of $2,800.
