Doddridge County Commission Meets

Shawn Glaspell, Commission President called the February 6th, meeting of the Doddridge County Commission to order at 4:01 PM after leading the attendees in a moment of silence and reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Commissioners approved the minutes to the past meeting and without any Public Comments, suspended the regular meeting and moved into the Board of Equalization and Review portion of the meeting.
Without any persons present to discuss their taxes, they moved ahead with the Regular meeting.
Jason Graser spoke and presented Investment documents for the Commission to consider. No action was taken.
Hero’s Haven Child Advocacy Center, Patty Saunders and Betsy Coffey requested funding for Center. The Commission approved to donate $15,000 to the Center.
Clinton Boring presented Tammy Mossor as a new hire for the Tax Office. Her employment was approved.
He then requested funding for the Sheriff’s Office for the upgrade of the CAD system. The Commissioners approved up to $75,000.
His request for Deputy Sheriff’s Salary was tabled until March.
Jennifer Wilt’s (EDA) request to designate the DC EDA as Doddridge County’s leading Economic Development Authority was approved FY 2024/2025.
Jennifer Wilt, EDA, spoke to funding of the Oxford Phase I water lines. She indicated the Phase I funding that was held was between $900,000 and 1 million dollars.
She then presented a request for the purchase of property in Walbash Addition, which was tabled by the Commission.
The Commissioners approved the renewal of Courthouse Sonicwall NSa 2650 AGSS for network and Internet security.
$21,687.80 was approved for Change orders for the New Annex.
The question was raised about who would be financially responsible for the New annex damage and the Commissioners stated the builder’s insurance would be responsible.
The contract with CINTAS for rug cleaning was tabled as was clarification of payment for Holiday, Comp Time, and Overtime. The personnel Issue was held until the end of the meeting.
George Eidel, OEMS Director, Reported two Floodplain Permits and gave the 911 Report as well as the reports on the meetings which he had taken part in.
The DCAA reported: Balance of the Fund is $240,836.58 — Savings Balance was $310,376.83 and Income of $30,794.29.
The Clerk of the Works, David King, announced they were seeing the “Light at the End of the Tunnel” on the Annex Build. They are beginning to do the punch lists now and the finish work.
