Stanford Wayne “Hank” Barrett

With great sadness the family of Stanford Wayne “Hank” Barrett, 73 of Salem (Cherry Camp Community) announce his passing on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at United Hospital Center, Bridgeport.

    Wayne “Hank” was born September 5, 1949 in Clarksburg, son of the late Harry H and Bertha E Bailey Barrett.

     He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Varner) Barrett of Salem. One son, Jamie, and one daughter Lisa from a previous marriage who reside in Ohio. Three stepdaughters, Jaclyn Bocchetti and husband Chris, and their children, Vincent and Tony, Mariana Secreto McClung and husband Cody and their children, Eric and Joshua, Kim Secreto Fontaine and husband Freddie Jay. Three siblings, Becky (Barrett) Miller, Angel “Ruth” (Barrett) Sayers and husband Matt, Marguetta (Barrett) Jones and husband Dave; several nieces and nephews.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Estie “Johnny” Barrett, Leroy Barrett, Linda Barrett West, Ann Barrett Robinson and Luther “Dick” Barrett.

     Wayne served his country in the United States Army as part of the Military Police.  He was a truck driver along with several other positions with Baker-Hughes in the oil field. Wayne was an avid ham operator and enjoyed talking with friends all over the US and International as well. He also had a passion for hunting, gun reloading and collecting and modifying guns. He loved to go for long rides with his wife both on road and off with his truck and ATV.
