Regular/ Working/Policy Review Meeting (Thursday, July 21, 2022)

The meeting was called to order by President Burnside at 5:04 p.m.

The Invocation was led by Superintendent Cheeseman.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Angie Curran.

1. Superintendent’s Update

Superintendent Cheeseman briefly discussed the finalized student achievement figures for the 2021-22 school year (handout was provided to each board member with breakdown of figures by school/grade). Also enrollment to date is 1,114 students, 14 above last year’s beginning enrollment and the summer school program has maintained steady attendance. Superintendent Cheeseman discussed the two constitutional amendments that will appear on the November ballot which pertain to education. He also mentioned the excess levy will also be on that ballot due to the legislature’s new law that levies must be run during a general or primary election, in place of special elections.

Scott Robey, new Athletic Director, was in attendance to review changes made to the Athletic Handbook to be in effect beginning with the 2022-23 school year.

2. Executive Session: Motion to adjourn to executive session for legal purposes  at 5:32 p.m. was made by Laura Cottrill, second by Angie Curran.Motion Carried Aye: Chad Evans, Denver Burnside, Laura Cottrill, Angie Curran, Justin Holtz.
