Regular/ Working – Budget Meeting (Thursday, May 5, 2022)

The meeting was called to order by President Burnside at 5:00 p.m.

The Invocation was led by Ken Heiney.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Isabella Holtz, DCMS Student.

Distinguished Students-GSA/SAT

The individual school principals recognized their students who had achieved “Exceeds Standards” in either Math or English or both on last year’s WV General Summative Assessment Tests.

Science Fair — Mr. Chris Cress, DCMS Principal, recognized the Doddridge County Science Fair winners.

Social Studies Fair — Mr. Cress also recognized the Doddridge County Social Studies Fair winners.

Math Field Day–  Mr. Cress recognized the Doddridge County Math Field Day winners some of which qualified for the Regional Math Field Day at Fairmont State University.

Young Writers — Mr. Chad Ash announced the 2022 Young Writers, DCES – Maxwell Cummings, DCHS Anna Trent and Jaycent Ash.

Golden Horseshoe — Mr. Cress announced the 2022 Golden Horseshoe Recipients from Doddridge County, John Underwood, Olivia Ash, and Jacqueline Corley.

At the conclusion of the awards ceremony, a five minute recess was observed.

There were no delegations.

Superintendent’s Update — Superintendent Cheeseman announced the date of the Teacher of the Year and Service Personnel of the Year dinner will be Monday, May 23rd, rather than Thursday, May 26th as previously announced. A draft 2022-2023 Board Meeting Calendar was distributed to the board members for review.
