Using Your Vote to Depolarize

Congress

I am an Independent West Virginian. During the 2022 State of the Union address WV Democrat Senator Manchin sat amongst the Republicans indicating a non-partisan stance.  I would have added WV Republican Senator Capito should have sat among the Democrats to indicate the same.  Maybe during the next State of the Union they can sit in each other’s seats J!  Maybe the Senate and House seats need to be DELIBERATELY interspersed so as to encourage cross-communications between our Congressmen!

Whatever your own political views, for the Senate on purpose vote for one STRONG Republican Moderate and one STRONG Democratic Moderate, ESPECIALLY in the Senate where each state has just two representatives regardless of population.  IGNORE ALL THE CAMPAIGN EMOTIONAL HOOPLA! Election campaigns are NOT football pep rallies!  Instead, regard yourself as an employer looking for  qualified employees who will work together to keep your company (i.e. the country) running.  Stay away from candidates who do nothing but trumpet the dogma of their respective parties.  For your House Representatives, try to even the spread of moderates on both sides, a bit more difficult since the number of Representatives per state depends on populations and is not always even, but the decision scales will be balanced and your candidates will get your meaning that negotiation and compromise is a requisite they must engage in rather than just “following the pact’. Likewise follow this advice for your state representatives.

REASONING: Our government was founded on the idea of negotiation and compromise.  Having an even number of Moderates on both sides representing your state will be objective on issues and electing Moderates on BOTH sides encourages (if not forces) them to cross-communicate with and work with each other outside the chambers to achieve mutually recognized objectives, much as my own state’s Democratic Senator Manchin and Republican Senator Capito do.  If both Senators are Republican or Democrat, especially if they are radical, all you do is encourage the radical party politics of either side or the response will be to block the opposing side regardless of the subject matter being considered.  An example is this opposition to the bilaterally approved infrastructure bill just because Biden pushed for it, not because everyone knows the aging physical infrastructure in our country needs updating.

WHEN CHOOSING A PRESIDENT

Be sure that the candidate you vote for is QUALIFIED FOR THE JOB and not just running a popularity campaign.  Personally, I prefer someone who has once been a state governor and consider our state governor offices to be the “proving ground” for selecting potential presidents.  That is, I lend weight towards voting for someone who is or was a governor as they have the experience and how they performed for their state can be used as a guide towards how they will perform for our country.

So, on a personal note, who as an Independent advocating Moderate candidates might I advocate running for President? I generally exclude CA, NY and TX as they have had their chances.  For the Dems of course WV’s own Senator Joe Manchin (https://www.manchin.senate.gov) who has proven he will buck his party’s dogma in the interest of his state and county ( Manchin: Democrats have ‘been identified as something we are not’ (nbcnews.com); Full Manchin: ‘We don’t have an urgency’ on $3.5 trillion spending – Bing video), and for the Reps Utah’s Senator Mitt Romney (https://www.romney.senate.gov ) whom I have largely followed through his interview on “Meet the Press”( Watch Meet the Press Excerpt: Full Romney Interview: ‘The president needs to stop and reset’ – NBC.com) would both be great moderate candidates!

Dear Editor,

King Biden is lying again! He’s blaming Putin for the high fuel prices.

Last year after Biden took office fuel prices began raising because of his “green energy” policies.

If he wants a green movement I would suggest lots of kale and spinach.

He blames everyone but himself for our problems today. He created them through his inept abilities and executive orders.

His entire administration is incapable of looking out for the AMERICAN people. And it’s becoming more apparent they don’t care. Putin didn’t become a pain in the Derrière until February 2022.

The fuel prices have increased all year of 2021

The inflation discussion has been going since last spring 2021

The southern border breech started January 2021.

The supply chain has been in the news since October 2021.

Afghanistan debacle took place in August 2021. Of

The male bovine excrement about the electric vehicles all year without telling the whole story. But politicians never tell the negative side or the truth.

While all this garbage was going the Covid controversy distracted us from these other problems.

Biden, Fauci, the CDC, Pelosi, Schumer, AOC (what piece of work that one is)did a bang up job of diverting our attention from the long list of screwups by this administration.

 Electric Vehicles

You watch, “they” already said if you can’t pay the cost at the gas pump then buy an electric vehicle. Next it will be you can’t afford a $60,000 electric vehicle you will not only pay $8.00 per gallon or more for fuel but to help force you buy an expensive car a fossil fuel usage tax will be imposed.

Now do you remember that Pete Buttigieg, Secretary of Transportation said we should be paying a mileage tax. So, if you buy an electric vehicle, your registration will likely be three or four times the regular cost. The your county personal property tax will go from you old gas guzzler Toyota to the new vehicle tax rate for a $50,000 to $60,000 car. If you can afford that, an annual mileage tax comes with the bill. Oh yeah! I forgot the cost of the charger and the electricity to keep the silly thing charged.

The dignitaries don’t understand the efficiency and range of these electric vehicles may be ok in the City. But how will they do in the hills of West Virginia, Tennessee, and other mountainous states. The steeper the climb, the more power demand and the shorter the range.

All that expense for going green.

Now, the King and his Court of Jesters don’t care that you are making $40,000 per year. They don’t care that you have already lost 8% of your paycheck, fuel prices have so far doubled over the last year. Food supply is getting shorter by the day.

Your electric bill necessarily increased and $9.00 per gallon gasoline is possible (as Obama said in 2008.)

If you voted democrat, how do you like your boy now?

If you think about it for a minute. You are just another complaining pea-on beefing about the country’s problems created by the policies of your party.

Hey! Like the bumper sticker says, “Don’t blame me, I voted legally for Trump”.

It’s time to talk impeachment of several of the politicians starting with Biden, then Kamala, also Pelosi and anyone who would subjugate you.

Putin is a dictator no doubt.

Biden is not much better. He wants us unarmed, submissive, conforming by force to his and his party’s will. What do you think?

If the fuel prices are deliberately manipulated by stopping the drilling, fracking and transporting the needed energy so you can live, go to work, afford to feed your family and is FORCING you buy an electric vehicle to accomplish “their” goals, you are being forced into submission.

“I will never own, rent or lease an electric vehicle.” Kiss off Biden!

I did not get the vaccine!

I do not wear a mask!

I will not give up my firearms!

And I will not drive an electric vehicle!

It’s all on you, King Biden.

According to Toyota, “????you asked for it! You got it, King Biden”.????Kinda musical ain’t it?

I just saw on tv where Putin said he is being blamed for the mistakes in America’s own country.

Our leadership, (for lack of a better term that could be printed), live so far out of our level they can’t feel our anguish at the pump, at the grocery store, they don’t feel the $ .08 on the dollar losses we feel due to Biden’s inflation.

They live too far into the protection from these problems “they” have created for our own good.

I remember once my father told me, “this is for own good” as he removed his belt.

It didn’t feel like it was for my own good. It didn’t feel good at all!

Let’s Go Brandon! For our own personal benefit you have taken from us our security, our prosperity, our freedom. I believe I’ld rather have the belt.

Biden has taken a page out of the Terry McAuliffe play book. “Force them to comply.”

That was the battle cry of Terry McAuliffe while running for Virginia Governor in 2021. Which he lost. Force equals resistance.

Think about it, Pelosi wanted the fencing back around the Capital because of the peaceful protest called the “freedom convoy.”

She has screwed the public so often over the years, she fears retribution and retaliation of the masses.

If the leadership is that fearful of the public, should they reevaluate their policies? Their actions?

I believe they should be forced to live as we live. Freeze their assets, bank accounts, credit cards, etc. Make them pay for their own fuel, their own heating bills.

I guarantee they would scream to the top of their lungs how unfair it is.

I have made no attempt to hide my opinions of our “leaderships ” inept capacities.

Instead of looking at Trumps tweets, or his New York attitude.

Look instead at the accomplishments not the personality. But capability.

If we have a candidate with the same intestinal fortitude as Trump, I would vote for that candidate. For now however, Trump is the loudest, his proof is in the the pudding.

Look at Trump’s accomplishments. He at least loved America.

Look at the crap King Biden has fouled up.

I thank the men and women of our military for their service.

Thank you to our police agencies protecting us.

Thank you for the readiness of our first responders.

And to our medical professionals, thank you for being there.

Dear Editor,

As I think of this past New Year and of New Year’s resolutions, I think of our elections and world events, and of the candidates we vote into office to represent us and the voice of we the people. And of one nation under one God indivisible, with truth and justice and freedom and liberties for all. And I think of folk music the music of our land. And of freedoms of speech and of religion and the freedom of choice.

And I think of Country Music like “Daddy will you take me back home down country roads to wild and wonderful hillbilly heaven where paradise is. For America the beautiful? Sorry my son you are too late at asking. This business and modern technology had taken it away and broke us down to the progress I mean. Not only did we leave our fishing poles and the plows in the field and look away form God and his laws of our land? What has happened to our homeland, why do we forsake it? Never here we are without our homes and without Dad and brashest drama to the progress of man.” “Now the turtles are like giant and the swamp rats roam from sea to polluted sea and we sing the pretty politician hillbilly blues.”

When I grew up in the 70’s I remember walking down dirty county roads and over the hills on Sunday afternoon with friends to our favorite fishing holes to spend the afternoon looking into each other’s happy smiling faces. And commutating one to the other without being distracted by such as cell phone or texting devices. And to get to exercise our bodies needed to stay healthy and happy. And releasing of anxieties with emotional expresses of happiness and laughter. Then at days end walking another dusty road with companionship to our local neighborhoods county church to commune with God. God translates his Ten Commandments and the laws of our land. Such as with “Thou shall not kill nor murder. Thou shall not steal or covet which is not yours. But most important of all the golden rules.  Love one to the another and do unto the other as you would have done unto you. And love your God and his laws with all of your heard and let there be no other God or Gods equal to or before him.

“God bless the boys who make the noise and sigh their songs for free”. “God Bless America again”!
