Doddridge County Schools Feburary

Newsletter

This month our Career and Technical Education (CTE) classes observe CTE Month.  The CTE program prepares our students for high-wage, high-demand careers. Our new CTE building houses programs in plumbing, HVAC, diesel technology and pre-engineering.  Our students are excited about these new course offerings and will soon be entering the work force.  CTE students train on the tools they will use when they graduate.  We are even able to provide virtual workplaces. These simulated environments provide an educational setting where students can safely experience work environments while using the same tools they will see when they enter the workforce.

Through our College and Career Readiness program our CTE students regularly meet with industry and union representatives as they plan their future.  Our program seeks not only to provide training for students, but also to help them make the professional connections that will help them find employment.

Our College and Career Readiness program implements our vision as a school district.  A key part of this vision is our expectations for a Doddridge County graduate.  Whether a student choses a Career-Ready path or a College-Ready path the end result should be a graduate that is Life Ready.
