CURRYDALE CEOS FEBRUARY 3RD NEWSLETTER

Four members and two guests met for out meeting on February 3, 2022, at the WVU Conference Meeting Room for our monthly meeting. Please pray for all who were sick and unable to come. President, Debbie Crislip called the meeting to order at 10:10 a.m., followed by standing t recite the Pledge to the flag. Meditations were read by Debbie Crislip called “Things you’ll Never Regret.” Four people answered the roll call. Volunteer hours and Books Read were recorded. The minutes were passed out for review. They were approved by those present. The treasurer’s report was also passed out for review. Likewise, it was approved by those present. The Flower Fund was also collected. 

The Lesson for the month was: “The Importance of Nature to Our Health and Well-being.” Dene Ryan was the leader for this month and told how just sitting on the porch, looking at flowers or house plants could affect your attitude and your well-being. When the weather is cold and you are stuck in the house, it can cause depression. You need to get our and take a walk, even if it is just to the mailbox and back. Enjoy the air to help keep the depression and sadness away. Continuing Education Committee, Debbie Crislip said to keep doing recycling.  Need to remember to save “Pocket Pennies for Friendship”. Marketing and Membership there was no report. Family Committee reminded the members to bring an item for the backpack for a child, 10 years old, being taken from their home to the next meeting. Cards were done for the veterans for Valentine’s Day by the members in attendance. And to continue finding the different WV license plates for the fun. If anyone is interested in getting the booklet to do the game call or stop by the Extension office. We also will be making plans in the spring to visit the Nursing Home in Salem. Nineteen books were read from the Purposeful Reading list.

Lesson Leader training for the March lesson is at the Extension Office is February 22, 2022.Stitching Day at the Extension Office is February 23, 2022. Friendship tray brought by Wanda Fultz was won by Dene Ryan. Next friendship tray will be in April.

Our next meeting is on March 3, 2022, at the WVU Conference Training Room at the Extension Office.
