Patty Allmaker Hamstead Manley

   Patty Allmaker Hamstead Manley, 88 of Salem departed this life to be present with the Lord on Friday, February 5, 2021 in J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 3, 1932 in Pennsboro a daughter of the late William and Euda Weekley Allmaker.  She is preceded in death by husbands, David Hamstead & Fred Manley.

   Surviving are two sons, David Eddy, Salem, Michael Eddy and wife Betsy, Quiet Dell; the father of her children, Ray Eddy, Clarksburg, grandchildren, Chad Eddy (companion Sarah and her daughter Izzy), Good Hope, Carrie Eddy Richards and husband Norman, Clarksburg, Nicholas Eddy, Bridgeport; great grandchildren, Parker Eddy, Bentley, Maverick, 

Madilyn, Levi, Ian, Landon, Josie and Michael Richards; sisters, Elaine Good and husband Rex, Sharon Garner and husband Denton, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by brother, CMSGT William Allmaker, sisters, Phyllis Mabry and Shirley Broadstone, three infant sisters, Ruth, Betty Lou and Emma Jean Allmaker and her Aunt & Uncle Enid and Paul Davis who helped raise her and her siblings.

   Patty was an active member of the Salem Baptist Church. She retired in 1998 from Salem College and Salem Teikyo University as secretary to the Registrar with 32 year’s service. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her beloved family, church family and friends.  Patty liked to crochet, work crossword puzzles and play games online.

   Funeral services will be conducted in the Salem Baptist Church on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dave Carpenter and Pastor Roger Fontaine presiding.  Interment will follow in the Bridgeport Cemetery.  Mrs. Manley will lie in state one hour prior to her service.  The family will receive friends in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 4-8 p.m.  In keeping with CDC guidelines, masks must be worn and social distancing must be practiced at all times. 

   In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Patty’s memory to the Salem Baptist Church, 153 E. Main St. Salem, WV  26426  Expressions of sympathy may be extended to the family at www.harbertfuneralhome.com.  Harbert Funeral Home is privileged to serve the family.
