Dixie Lee Davis, 78 of Sawyers Run Salem went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. She was born on October 4, 1941 in Doddridge County a daughter of the late Nick Varrasso and Juanita Bonnell Clum. Her husband Willis Brine Davis preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Wilda Murray (Brian), Bridgeport, grandchildren, Brine and Aika Murray, Bridgeport, two sisters, Sarah Pethel, Evelyn Varrasso, both of Newark, OH, one brother, Nick Varrasso Jr. Kingsland, Fl. She was preceded in death by her beloved Aunt Winona Blose and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mrs. Davis was retired from the Dairy Mart (Mountaineer Mart) as a cashier with several years service. Dixie enjoyed watching wrestling on tv, talking on the phone but most importantly spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Monday, July 27, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Denver Burnside presiding. Interment followed in the Salem I.O.O.F. Memorial Park. The family received friends in the funeral home chapel after 11 a.m. on Monday until time of service following state requirements of 25 maximum occupancy at a time and mask must be worn.
