Wilma Lee Willis, 91 of West Union departed this life on Thursday, July 2, 2020 in the Clarksburg Continuous Care & Rehab Center. She was born on April 12, 1929 in Putnam County, IL a daughter of the late James and Nettie Rebecca Pyles Lipscomb. Twice married she was preceded in death by her first husband Daniel French Friend in 1963 and her second husband Charles Willis in 2012.
Surviving are two sons, James D. Friend, West Union, Robert A. Friend and wife Maggie, Clarksburg, five step sons, Charles W. Willis, Merrifield, VA, Harry Willis and wife Cathy, Myrtle Beach, SC, David Lee Willis, Virginia Beach, VA, James Willis and wife Jane, Ripley, Harold Willis, Los Angeles, CA , several grandchildren and great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Two brothers preceded her in death, Kenneth and Arthur Lipscomb.
Mrs. Willis was a homemaker and was the former secretary for Post 3408 VFW, Ladies Auxiliary, West Union. She was Baptist.
Funeral services were conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 56 Front St. West Union on Monday, July 6, 2020 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Denver Burnside presiding. Interment followed in Simpson Cemetery, Taylor County.
