James “Jim” Davidson
James “Jim” Davidson, of Salem, WV, born June 19th, 1942 to loving parents Virgil & Brenice Helmick Davidson of Kanawha Head, WV departed his earthly home on Saturday, December 2, 2023.
Jim was no stranger to hard work. He worked as a butcher for 30 years at Garden Fresh & Wines Meats of Weston, WV. For the last 36 years- he was the sole owner of Jim’s RV Appliance Repair. His customers & members of his beloved community would describe him as a man of honesty & integrity. Jim had a gift of making people feel valued and strived to continuously give back to those in need. He enjoyed the outdoors, caring for his pets, sharing laughs with his family & fiercely loved his people.
Rejoicing & partaking in his heavenly celebration- he’s preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Nicholson Davidson, whom he tirelessly devoted his heart for 54 years. He also reunites with siblings- Leona Gray Pugh, Louise Hull, Helen Samples, Edward Davidson & Betty Pitcock; as well as one son, James Harold Davidson Jr.
Continuing to live in his legacy of kindness & celebrate his life- surviving him are two siblings, Gerald Davidson of Thornton, CO, and Opal Cunningham of Bridgeport, WV. A daughter, Teresa Webb of Salem, WV, a granddaughter, Cheyenne Rodeheaver & husband, Bradley of Friendsville, MD. He was also blessed with extended grandchildren in Kathleen Williams, Laura Webb, Jennifer Simpson, Sherri Hughes and Karl Webb, as well as three great- grandchildren.
As he will be sorely missed by his family & community, his family asks that you celebrate his life by giving genuine kindness & living his legacy of selflessness. We ask that in lieu of flowers that you consider a donation to the local humane society- as Jim adored his pets & caring for those special ones in need. The family would like to thank Jim’s caregiver, Kim Fittro and also WVU Medicine Hospice for all the love and support.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home – Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 3-7 PM and on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM with Chaplain Todd Syruws officiating.
