SPEECH AND HEARING
SCREENING OFFERED
BY DODDRIDGE COUNTY SCHOOLS
The Doddridge County Schools Speech and Language Department announces it will be conducting Speech/Hearing Sweep Screening during the months of August and September 2023, for the following schools: Doddridge County Elementary School, Doddridge County Middle School, Doddridge County Hight School Freshmen, and Special Education students.
The purpose of this screening is to locate students who may be experiencing difficulties in the area of language, articulation, or hearing so severe that it may interfere with communication and academic skills.
The sweep screening will involve those students in second grade, Special education, and Kindergarten wo did not go through the registrations process in spring Also included are students entering the school system from out of State.
The types of screening will include speech and language (using the Fluharty Speech and Language Test) and hearing (Pure Tone Tympanometry) using the impedance bridge.
If for some reason any parent would not want their child to participate in the screening, please contact Farrah Johnson, Speech, and Language Pathologist at 304-873-3296 or the Special Education Office at 304-873-2300 ext. 0026 prior to August 25, 2023.
