William Waitman-”Bill” SUTTON
William Waitman-“Bill” Sutton, 84 of Smithburg departed this lifeon Saturday, February 11, 2023 in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport.
He was born on August 20, 1938 in Smithburg a son of the late Lester Burton and Conda Novella Ware Sutton. On November 12, 1954 he married Norma Lee Crouse Sutton who preceded him in death.
Surviving are one son, Roderick Sutton (Sandy), Nutter Fort, grandchildren, Jasmine Lowther (Shane), Bridgeport, Noah Sutton, Nutter Fort, Camille Sutton, Bridgeport, great grandchildren, Lorenzo and Soren Lowther, Bridgeport, extra special friends, Billy “Slick”, Christine and Walker Trent, Carolyn and Buck Childers and family and all of his neighbors in Smithburg.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Terry Sutton, four Sisters, Ara Lee Kelley, Kate Lipscomb, Euleta Connelly and Twila Childress, three brothers, Joe Sutton, Lowell “Bo” Sutton and Duane “Butch” Sutton.
Bill retired from Chenoweth Ford as a Mechanic and had worked for various dealerships In the area. He enjoyed gardening, working on vehicles, watching races, riding his side by side and always busy doing some kind of work. Bill especially enjoyed having breakfast with his buddies at Mooney’s.
Funeral Services will be conducted in The Spurgeon Funeral Home 56 Front St. West Union on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with David Rockwell presiding.
Interment will follow in The Masonic Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the Funeral home chapel on Thursday, February 16, 2023 after 11:00 a.m. until time of Service.
