Menendez Case Continued

On August 16, 2022 @ 10:30AM Andrew Menendez, who was indicted during the Doddridge County’s July Session Grand for  “Soliciting a Minor via Computer” and “Sexual Abuse by a Parent, Guardian, Custodian, or Person of Trust”, came before the Honorable Judge Timothy Sweeny for Arraignment.

Special Prosecutor from Ritchie County , Samuel C. Rogers II, represented the State of West Virginia via telephone.

Represented by Judith McCullough, Attorney, Menendez, wearing a Covid mask, pled Not Guilty.

At a previous hearing Judge Sweeney set Bail in the amount of $30,000, to be paid by August 25, 2022. Because Menendez is currently unemployed and the Bail amount is considered a hardship, his Attorney requested either a continuance on the Bail due or it be dropped to a PR Bond instead of cash.  Rogers disagreed in changing the bail to a PR Bond but agree to extend the date due until September 25th, 2022.

McCullough then requested that this case be continued until the October session of Court due to not having time to be ready for Court for the September hearings. The Judge and Special Prosecutor agreed, setting the date of October 25th, 2022 for his Scheduling Conference.
