Political Candidates

Glaspell

to Run

for

Second Term

My Fellow Doddridge Countians,

My name is Shawn Glaspell and I am running for my second term for the Doddridge County Commission. I want to thank you, the citizens of Doddridge County, for your support during my tenure in office.

As the current President, I work alongside my fellow Commissioners, and in cooperation with our elected officials and Courthouse staff, to make significant improvements in our County. The Commission has collaborated with supporting staff, the Economic Development Authority, and the PSD to secure over 20 million dollars in state and federal funding. This funding has made it possible to extend and improve broadband internet service and increase the availability of municipal water within the County through many past and current water projects. Grant funding also made possible the construction of a new communication tower to serve the southern area of Doddridge County with the primary goal to provide better emergency communication for law enforcement and emergency services, reducing response time in those areas. The Commission has invested over $500,000 in the City of West Union to pave city streets. We have worked with our Doddridge County Parks & Recreation Board to make upgrades and improvements to our Park for the enjoyment of our citizens. The beautiful campground, splash pool, and many other updated attractions have made it a destination for local recreation. Our continued funding to the Solid Waste Authority makes it possible to maintain trash collection on our primary roads. We have worked alongside the West Fork Conservation District to improve creek blockages for the local farmers and landowners.

My goal as Commissioner is to be of service to everyone in our County. While the projects we fund and support might not serve every individual, it is my aim to improve the circumstances for Doddridge County citizens as a whole. Once again, thank you for your past and continued support, and I look forward to serving you for another 6 years.

Sincerely,

Shawn A. Glaspell
