Reading Challenge for 2022

Doddridge County Public Library

We have a new Reading Challenge for 2022. This one is quite simple. Stop by the library to pick up your 2022 Reading Log. Starting on January 1, 2022, write down the books you read, that you’ve checked out from the Doddridge County Public Library. When you read 5 books you will get a White Ribbon with your name on it. We will display it in the library for other patrons to see. When you read 5 more, you will get a Yellow Ribbon. This will continue at different levels earning various colored ribbons until you reach 50, the Purple Ribbon. Each of your ribbons that you have earned will be entered in a drawing for a Meadowbrook Mall Gift Card of its matching value…for example, all of the White Ribbons = 5 books, will be entered in the drawing for $5 gift card, the Yellow Ribbons = 10 books, will be a drawing for $10 gift card, and so on. Patrons are allowed to win more than once, and the exciting part is the more you read the greater your chances of winning. After you have earned the Purple Ribbon = 50 books, you may start over by reading 5 more and getting another White Ribbon, and so on. We have opened this challenge up to all ages!

 In December, we will have a drawing for all colored ribbons:

White = 5 books ($5.00 gift card)

Yellow = 10 books ($10.00 gift card)

Green = 15 books ($15.00 gift card)

Blue = 20 books  ($20.00 gift card)

Red = 25 books  ($25.00 gift card)

Purple = 50 books ($50.00 gift card)

for each of these 4 different age groups:

Ages 0-5 (being read to)

Ages 6-12

Ages 13-17

and 18+

This is our most exciting and easiest challenge yet, so get the entire family involved! Also, teachers, it’s a great way to motivate, encourage and inspire a little competition in your classroom.  We want these kids reading as much as you do! Pick up you Reading Logs today.
