Investigations and Court Update

Ronnie Travis

A few weeks ago, the news reported that embezzlement charges had been brought against Ronnie Travis, a Doddridge County Commissioner by Am Tower.

Since he is a Commissioner, it is important to note the charges were not linked to the County and are of a personal nature.

The case was moved to Circuit Court,  to Judge Sweeney, who in turn took the steps to appoint Michael Parker from Elkins as Special Prosecutor  to hold an investigation and appointed David Haugh as Special Magistrate, and a Special Judge, so as to avoid any conflicts of interest within the County that may exist.

Since that time Mr. Travis has been before the Special Magistrate and waived his Preliminary Hearing which automatically moved the Felony case to the Doddridge County Circuit Court.

At this point in time, the Circuit Clerk, Michelle Britton has stated that his case not on the docket yet to be heard.
