Family Reunion
The 35th Harley Z & Thelma Moore Family Reunion was held at the Doddridge County Park on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Carolyn & Guy Cumpston and family was host this year. This year’s theme was “The Moore Family Is Priceless” The Price is Right Moore Edition. The tables were beautifully covered with pastel table clothes and a center piece of vases of candy bars. All eight remaining Moore children were present this year and recognized and welcomed with 76 family members and 10 guests by Alex Cumpston. .
A moment of Silence was observed for 2 deceased family members, Marlin & Gloria Moore. The blessing was given by Rev. Joe Spurgeon. A delicious dinner was enjoyed by all. A silent auction was held for future reunions. A homemade wooden picture frame was made to look through & have pictures taken of family members. A picture is worth a thousand words but the Memories are Priceless.
Everyone enjoyed the games of Hole In One, Punch a Bunch, Plinko and Spinning the Wheel. Orma Yeater won a beautiful gift basket consisting of a gift card, WVU Blanket & several boxes & bags of candy, being the only family member to spin & hit $1.00 on her first try on the wheel. Ruby Carpenter won a popcorn maker & popcorn supplies & toppings winning the Hole in One Tournament drawing. Everyone won money or nice gifts from the Punch a Bunch & Plinko games. Several family members received the vases of candy bars from the table center pieces as door prizes.
The candy guessing jars were won by Joe Spurgeon (Peanut M & M’s) & Jasmine Spurgeon (Skittles). Every family received a Moore Family is Priceless Ornament as a favor.
Next year’s reunion committee will be Chris Wright and family. Thanks to this year’s committee, the Cumpston Family for a job well done.
