Week 7 of Energy Express was a blast! Both schools tried out many new activities with the kids!
The elementary school made marble art out of shaving cream, rain cloud in a jar, leak proof bags, and x-ray hands. The kindergarten group tried a rainbow skittles experiment, and made X-ray hands out of Q-tips. The first-grade class made communities out of found objects! The students even played Cookie Monster, red light green light, and freeze tag. Some of the mentors even took their students on nature walks!
The middle school did an egg drop and a water balloon drop. They tried out ball in a cup races, made slime, chalk art, and stomp rockets. The sixth grade class made community banners. They even tried out a STEM challenge where you stack cups only using strings and a rubber band! Some recreational activities they did included kickball, basketball, and 4-square. Some of the students also played Hungry, Hungry Hippos!
All the students enjoyed the trip to Ace Adventure! About 9 middle school students went ziplining with some of our staff!
