Clyde “Bud” Albert Barr

    Clyde “Bud” Albert Barr, 80 of West Union departed this life on Saturday, May 22, 2021 in his residence surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on July 5, 1940 at West Union the son of the late Albert and Bertha Claybourne Barr.  On July 16, 1960 he married Lucille Turner Barr who survives.

   Also surviving are three daughters, Roberta Lee Lowther (Lee), West Union, Mary Elizabeth Miller (Tim) Morgantown, Linda Sue Britton (Scott), Ellenboro, two sons, Mark Albert Barr (Mary) and Clyde Dewayne Barr, both of Central Station, 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, sisters, Martha Jane Henry, Pocatello, ID, Mary Lucille Quick, Ravenna, OH, Patricia Ann Cork, Salem, Catherine Sue Ross, New Milton, brothers, George Duane Barr, Beech Bottom, William Thomas Barr, Ravenna, OH, Steven Albert Barr, Phoenix, AZ.  Two brothers, Charles Wesley Barr, John Wayne Barr, and infant daughter, Mary Jane Barr also preceded him in death.

   Mr. Barr was retired from the W.V. Department of Highways as a Crew Leaders with 37 years service.  

   Funeral services were conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union, on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jimmy Lipscomb and Pastor Clyde Swiger presiding.  Interment followed in the Randolph Cemetery.  The family received friends in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 4-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday until time of service.  Expressions of sympathy may be extended to the family at www.spurgeonfunerals.com.  Spurgeon Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Barr family.
