Ora L. Kimble

   Ora L. Kimble, 85, of Holbrook Rd. Buckhannon formerly of Salem departed this life on Friday, March 12, 2021 in Holbrook Nursing Home, Buckhannon.  He was born on September 28, 1935 at Jacksonburg, (Wetzel County) a son of the late Erie “Tink” Kimble and Nellie Miller Kimble.

   Surviving is one son, Kenneth Kimble, OH, two daughters, Angelia, OH, Melody, GA, several grandchildren, one brother, David Kimball and wife Shelia, Salem.  Three sisters, Shirley Collins, Judy Barrow, Joyce Fulcher and two brothers, Martin and Jerry Kimble also precede him in death.

   Mr. Kimble was physically and mentally handicapped due to polio but successfully raised a family and retired after 24 years of service at Kent State University, OH.  He returned to WV staying with and attending to needs of his mother as she fought a losing battle with Alzheimer’s and cancer.  Ora served for many years at both Harden and Wilsonburg Elementary School’s as a foster grandparent and was known to many area children as, “Grandpa Bud”.

   Funeral services were conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Chad Ash presiding.  Interment followed in the Lumberport Lions Club Cemetery.  The family received friends in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 after 11:00 a.m. until time of service.  Expressions of sympathy may be extended to the family at www.harbertfuneralhome.com.  Harbert Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Kimble family.
