Attorney General Morrisey Celebrates National Consumer Protection Week Across West Virginia

   CHARLESTON — Attorney General Patrick Morrisey announced his office will host various events across West Virginia aimed at consumer education and fighting fraud as part of National Consumer Protection Week 2021.

   The Attorney General collaborates with the Federal Trade Commission and federal, state and local agencies, consumer groups and national organizations to raise awareness about consumer fraud issues from Sunday, Feb. 28, to Saturday, March 6.

   The consumer protection events will give residents an opportunity to meet with a representative from the Attorney General’s Office to discuss consumer-related issues and any potential questions.

    “Our office works diligently year-round to protect consumers from fraud and scams, and during this special consumer protection week, we want to ensure consumers can have their questions and concerns addressed,” Attorney General Morrisey said. “These events are a great way for consumers to learn more about how to protect themselves from scammers and to learn more about what the Attorney General’s Office does.”

   The week’s events include:

March 1: 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Preston County Commission Meeting Room, 106 W. Main St., Kingwood

March 2: 11:00 a.m. to Noon – Calhoun County Courthouse, 363 Main St., Grantsville

March 3: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – Charleston Town Center, 3000 Charleston Town Center, Charleston

March 3: 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. – Morgantown Mall, 9500 Mall Road, Westover

March 4: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Charleston Town Center, 3000 Charleston Town Center, Charleston

March 4: 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. – Morgantown Mall, 9500 Mall Road, Westover

March 4: 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. – Urban Coffee Shop, 243 Three Springs Drive, Weirton

March 5: 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. – Charleston Town Center, 3000 Charleston Town Center, Charleston

March 5: 11:00 a.m. to Noon – Wood County Courthouse, 1 Court Square, Parkersburg
