On Tuesday January 26th, 2021 it was released that to help prevent COVID from spreading, WV’s Groundhog Day celebration at the states Wildlife Center was cancelled to the public.
However, this did not keep WV’s Groundhog French Creek Freddie from making his prediction of whether or not it will be an early spring or six more weeks of winter.
So, at noon on Tuesday February 2nd, 2021 it was conformed that Freddie did not see his shadow meaning he’s predicting an early spring! With over 40 years of making his prediction been right 50 percent of the time.
Last year over 400 people gathered at the Wildlife Center to see what Freddie would predict during the 43rd Annual Groundhog Day celebration in 2020.
