Brian Lee Mahaney, 52, of Harrisville, WV, departed this life on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Camden Clark Memorial Center, in Parkersburg, WV.
He was born March 24, 1968 in Parkersburg, WV, a son of Jesse G. Mahaney and the late Shirley J. Varner Mahaney.
Brian worked as a Janitor at Pineview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for several years. He was a proud Alumni of Ritchie County High School, class of
1987, the first class to pass through the halls of Ritchie County High School. Brian loved football, whether it was the Ritchie County Rebels or the Cincinnati Bengals, he was always cheering his teams on. Brian also treasured the time spent fishing with his nephew, Zaiden. He was a member of the Bonds Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife Angela Mahaney of Harrisville, WV; his father, Jesse G. Mahaney of Pennsboro, WV; brothers, Jamie Mahaney (Melissa) of Parkersburg, WV, and Joe Mahaney (Lori) of Pennsboro, WV; nephews, Zaiden Purkey, Andrew Mahaney and Chase Walker; nieces, Jalissa Mahaney, Shianna Turnbull, Keelee Purkey, and Kaylee Purkey; sister in laws, Terri Jo Swiger (Rod) of Wallace, WV and Tasha Fernandez of Rosemont, WV; brother in law, Todd Purkey of West Union, WV; mother in law carol boyce; step sister in law Tammy Boyce; step brother in laws Richard, Dennis, and Kenny Boyce; and several aunts and uncles.
In addition to his mother, Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Guy and Eva Mahaney, and Wilson and Juanita Varner, along with several aunts and uncles.
Brian’s funeral services were held Tuesday, December 15th, 2020 at 1:00pm at the Raiguel Funeral Home in Harrisville, WV with Reverend Bud Corbin officiating. Friends called Monday, December 14th, 2020 from 6-8pm at the funeral home. In accordance with the CDC guidelines, masks wererequired while inside the funeral home.
