Doddridge County Schools will make two changes to the November school schedule to account for Election Day and for Veterans Day. Students scheduled to attend on these Holidays will attend Friday of that week. (A scheduled NTID day).
ELECTION DAY: All students and staff will have off Election Day, Tuesday, November 3rd.
If your student is scheduled to attend school on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3rd, your student will attend school in-person on Friday, November 6th.
Veterans Day: All students and staff will have off Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11th.
If your student is scheduled to attend school on Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11th, your student will attend school in-person on Friday, November 13th.
The schedule for Thanksgiving will not change. Students will not attend school in-person on Friday, November 20th, which is a Non-Traditional Instructional Day. Students will not attend school Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving Week which are also Non-Traditional Instructional Days. Students will not attend school Wednesday through Friday due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Meal delivery for the week of November 23rd to November 27th will be delivered on Friday November 20th. Enough food will be delivered for meals for the following week.
We appreciate that changing the school schedule for the two holidays in November may affect parents’ schedules. However, it is important that students attend school as often as possible during the pandemic. These changes were made in consultation with the Doddridge County Health Department. By staggering our school days, we hope to limit the spread of Coronavirus in our community. Additionally, this schedule helps with our substitute teacher shortage.
