Ritchie Invitational

HS Boys get their 2nd win of the week, knocking off Bridgeport and Ritchie among others.  Carter Lipscomb scores a dominating win, this time getting it by over a minute.  His 15:48 is 10 seconds faster than last year despite the course being a good 100 meters longer.  Trent Gola picks up a strong 4th in 17:09 and finishing much closer to the Wheeling Central kid than he did at Magnolia.  Brennan Miller gets 16th in 17:56.  We’re getting close here.  He was well inside the top 10 through 2 miles.  Another 4 weeks of training, and we’re going to be in business.  William Atkinson turns in his 2nd strong run in a row with a 20th place finish in 18:12.  Joshua Berke adds a 40th place finish in 19:15 in his best run of the season.  Kaden Smith adds a 132nd place finish in 24:02.  Jimmy Berke turns in his best race of the season for 152nd in 25:57.  Logan Currey gets 159th in 26:41.  Again, some of these times are different than what I told you at the meet because the waves didn’t start exactly 5:00 apart. HS Girls pick up a solid 3rd, just 8 points off 2nd place East Fairmont.  Alexis Lamb led the way with a 4th place finish in 20:48.  Emily Gola has by far her strongest run of the season with an 8th place finish in 21:10, which is faster than her time here last year, even though the course was maybe 100 meters longer this year.  Maria Bee battled back to a 13th place finish in 21:34.  Hailey Keith has one of her best runs of the season for 25th in 22:42.  Nora Sias continues to trend in the right direction with a 25:22 for 74th.  Audrey Smith is close behind in 79th with a 25:35.  Jocelyn Atkinson has a solid run in 92nd in 26:31.  Cloe Tallman gets 99th with a 27:00.  Gabby Gogan gets 109th in 28:30.  Lacey Shepherd gets 114th in 28:46.  Some of these times may not match what I told you at the meet because they didn’t start the waves exactly 5:00 apart. MS Boys also take another win in convincing fashion, by 28 over Williamstown.  Trey McDonough battles for the win the entire way but settles for 3rd in 11:03.  Carter Sias puts together an excellent run for 6th in 11:16.  Jerod Trent adds a solid 8th in 11:22.  Cory Swentzel wins the 2nd wave and gets 13th overall in 11:51.  Luke Rokisky takes a really tight battle for 14th in 11:58, running down and edging past a Williamstown kid right before the line.  Noah Bodkin gets 28th in 12:33, overcoming a late fall.  Isaac Johnson grabs 42nd in 13:02.  Samuel Gola gets 54th in 13:26 just getting edged out at the line by a kid who cut him off multiple times in the finishing stretch. MS Girls take another win and in dominating fashion 64-130.  Catherine Cottrill scores a 3rd place finish in 11:44.  Bailey Holden is right behind in 4th in 11:58.  Marley Sias has a strong run in winning the 2nd wave to finish 13th in 12:45.  Cassidy Cumberledge has a solid outing for 14th in 12:49.  Payton Trent gets 30th in 13:38.  Payton Currey has a strong run (taking down a few competitors in the last 400 meters) to get 34th in 13:50.  Aleigh Cheeseman adds her best run of the season with a 93rd place finish in 16:13.  Marley, Payton, and Payton took a wrong turn early in the course and lost probably 7 or 8 seconds getting corrected or their times and place would have been even better.
