Happy Retirement Sheila McCutchean

The Doddridge County Public Library would like to announce the retirement of a member of our library family, Sheila McCutchan. Sheila has worked at the library for 31 years. She started in 1989 and became the assistant librarian in 1992 She served this library and our patrons with a smile every day and a warm loving charm that truly leaves an empty spot. She loved her job and loved serving the people of Doddridge County. She never met a stranger and had a way of making friends with everyone she met.

Sheila worked to bring many programs to the library for both children and adults.  She treated every child as her own. For years, Sheila helped to plan Story Hour, the Summer Reading Program, and visits to the Preschool and Project Ace Program. She also hosted the Adult Book Club and Dish It Up Club for the library. Sheila’s enthusiastic creativity has been shared and seen by all of us over the years and the library has been made a special place because of it.

Sheila’s contagious laughter, mischievous smile, funny stories, and her and Cathy’s misadventures have been a constant source of entertainment for the staff. It made coming to work feel more like visiting family and for that, we will always be grateful. Anyone who visits the library can see Sheila’s tremendous impact that has helped to make the Doddridge County Public Library what it is today.

We want to thank Sheila for her hard work, dedication and devotion over the years. Sheila –thank you for all of your love, encouragement and support you have given. You will forever be a part of this library. You will be missed. If you would like to send Sheila a “Happy Retirement Card”, her address is: Sheila McCutchan, 1905 WV Route 18 N, West Union, WV  26456
