Doddridge County Native Named a Trump Delegate to National GOP Convention

   Former House of Delegates Republican Leader Larry Swann (R-Doddridge-Tyler) has been selected to attend the Republican National Convention in Jacksonville, Florida as one of at-large 23 delegates representing West Virginia.  Swann was nominated by the Trump Campaign and confirmed by the WV GOP State Executive Committee at a recent meeting.  The GOP national convention will be held in August.  President Trump, Vice President Pence, along with other high ranking national GOP leaders, will be speaking at the convention.  Swann commented, “I am honored to be selected by the WV State Republican Executive Committee and President Trump’s campaign organization to represent West Virginia as a Delegate to the national convention.  President Trump has been good to West Virginia and we should in turn be good to him in 2020”.

   Larry Swann served in the WV House of Delegates from 1972 – 1988 representing Doddridge and Tyler Counties.  He served as GOP leader in the House for six years. Swann was the Republican leader of the House when Gov. Arch Moore served his third term as Governor (1984-88).  Swann, now a resident of Charleston, WV, is a former Chairman of the Doddridge County Republican Executive Committee (1977 – 1979).
