Barbara “Bobbi” Adrian

   Barbara “Bobbi” Adrian, age 83, formerly of West Union, WV passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020 in Fishersville, Virginia. She was called Bobbi by close family members.

    She was born in Fairfax, VA on October 27, 1936, a daughter of the late Richard and Edith Blair Wagner.

    She is survived by her husband of 64 years, George W. Adrian, whom she married in October, 1955.

    Also surviving are one daughter, Dianne Byrer and her husband John of Staunton, VA; one sister, Beverly Easton and her husband Bill of Florida; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Kellar; and one son, Richard Allen Adrian.

    Barbara was what was known at the time as a “tomboy”, playing baseball with her braids in her cap and packing play six shooters. She was a graduate of Mclean High School in Mclean, VA in 1955. As a young navy wife she moved frequently, raising her 3 young children on her own for 6 months at a time when her husband was on deployments. Barbara was the first woman bus driver in Doddridge County where she worked many years before retiring.

    Barbara was an extremely accomplished horse woman, accumulating 1000s of miles in the (AERC) American Endurance Riding Association and the (ECTRA) Eastern Competitive Trail Riding Association, as well as riding the trails around her farm in Blandville by herself and with family and friends. She was a charter member of the Doddridge County Riding Club where she hosted many of the meetings and trail rides. She was known to host potlucks and large family gatherings in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Barbara was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.

    A private graveside service will be held by the family.
