Leslie C. Anderson, 85, of Shirley, WV, departed this life on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at his residence, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Leslie was born September 13, 1934 in Elk Lick, WV, a son of the late Robert C. and Lexie G. (Gains) Anderson. He began his working career working for Weirton Steel from 1950-1951. He later retired after a 25 year career working in the oil fields as a well tender for Pennzoil and he also drove truck for Glaspell Lumber Company for 2 years. Leslie attended the Chestnut Grove Church at Big Flint, WV and he loved mechanic work, mowing, hunting, and camping.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley (Ash) Anderson; his children, Rhonda Seagrave of Moundsville, WV; Kathy Hardy of GA; Randall Anderson of OH, and Russell Anderson of Clarksburg, WV; step son, William Doll, Jr. of Wilbur, WV; several grandchildren, one step granddaughter; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Violet Lancaster of Weirton, WV and Olive Anderson of Salem, WV, and brother, Robert Anderson of Wetzel County, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steve Anderson; sister, Esther Vandruff, brother, Lewis Ray Anderson; granddaughter, Amanda, and great granddaughter, Serenity.
Due to the ongoing health concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic, all services will be private. He will be laid to rest in the Center Point Cemetery in Doddridge County, WV. McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro is assisting the family with the services.
