
Bernard Wayne Lamb,
Bernard Wayne Lamb, 86, of Salem passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. He was born July 13, 1937 in Allen Bank, WV, son of the late Luther Newton and Mary Virginia Lattea Lamb. Bernard worked at Flanigan Ford, Carnation Milk, the WV Department of Highways and retired from Union Carbide with about twenty-five years of service. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, that he enjoyed teasing. He enjoyed ice cream, steak, mashed potatoes, NASCAR, Fords, and Dolly. He had a brute strength like no other and could bring any man to their knees with a little game of “mercy” and “hot hands”. While working on cars, he had the gifted ability to diagnose problems with incredible accuracy. Bernard is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Evelyn “June” Marie Evans Lamb whom he married at Rev Marshall Cumpston’s home on February 1, 1958; five children, Grady Lamb and Michele, Salem, Deby Davis and Eric, Salem, John Lamb and Angie, Salem, Nancy Dye, Bridgeport, Mary Newlon and Randy, Fairmont; eleven grandchildren, Kristy, Shaun and Courtney, Lisa and Adam, Alexis, Bailey, Elaina, Adam, Sierra, Neil and Brittany, Erica and Lonzo, and Tucker; twelve great grandchildren, Samuel, Lainey, Violet, Nevan, Aleigh, Addy, Anna, Holden, Kensin, Briella, Ariana, and Leo; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; two siblings, Denver Lamb and Deanna, Salem, Virginia Ferguson and Tom, Uhrichsville, OH; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bernard is preceded in death by two sons, Bernard Lamb and Marshall Lamb; son-in-law, Jeff Dye; three siblings, Dewie Lamb, Madeline Heard and Paul, Arlie “Glenn” Lamb and Doretha. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home – Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 3:00-7:00PM and on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00PM with Pastor Adam Cheeseman officiating.
