Community Meeting for Public
Water: Tarkiln and Rt. 23
The Doddridge County Public Service District will be holding a Community Meeting on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Doddridge County Park. The purpose of this meeting is to answer questions concerning the Rt. 23/Big Flint Waterline Extension Project.
You can come anytime between 6:00 and 8:00 pm to speak with a PSD representative.
This project is the first phase of providing water to residents in eastern Doddridge County. This phase will serve:
● All of Buckeye Run (Old US Rt. 50) from the Tarkiln Run exit to the Wiseman Run exit
● All of Tarkiln Run
● All of Sportsman Drive
● Rt. 23 from the fork at Tarkiln Run to 1271 WV Rt 23 (old residence of Warren and Gertrude Compton)
● Big Flint Road from Rt. 50 to the top of Flint Hill
● All of Coal Run Road
● All of Wiseman Run
The scope of this project is subject to minor changes. Depending on the number of sign-ups and material/labor price increases, we will be serving the above areas. We are a water-only PSD, so sewage disposal is not available.
A prevalent misconception is that you must sign-up for public water if it is offered to you. We certainly welcome all customers, but participation is not mandatory.
Please join us if you have any questions or would like to sign-up for water at this time. The sign-up fee is $100 before construction or $300 after the line has been installed.
