Is there a Dedication Stone, Corner Stone or Time Capsule Located at the old DCHS?

Is there a Dedication Stone, Corner Stone or Time Capsule Located at the old DCHS?

With the pending tearing down of the Old Doddridge County High School , the question has been asked, “Was there a Dedication Stone, Corner Stone or Time Capsule  buried when or after the school was built?”

Calls were made to members of the local Masonic Lodge to see if they had any record of a Dedication Stone being placed at the old DCHS. Upon reviewing their records, they found no reference to a Dedication taking place.

Some of the Masonic Members took their time to physically search the property, without finding one.

Patricia Harris, President of the Doddridge County Historical Society  searched the copies of the Historic Newspaper Collection and did not find reference to any type of Dedication or Corner Stone ceremony being buried or included at the old DCHS.

It was also asked, if through the years if anyone knew of Time Capsules being buried by different classes or organizations. This question has also gone unanswered.

So, if there is anyone who may know if there was a Dedication Stone, Corner Stone or Time Capsule that was put in place at the old DCHS, please either let a Commissioner, Patricia Harris (304)-873-1540  know or call The Herald Record’s office (304) 873-1600, so it can be located prior to the tear down of the old DCHS, and saved.
