Danny Nathan McCune, 77, of Pennsboro, WV, passed away February 9, 2023, at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital following an extended illness, surrounded by his family.
He was born August 18, 1945, in Doddridge County, WV, the son of the late Gilbert and Velma (Leggett) McCune.
Nathan was a member of Fairmont Ridge Baptist Church. He was a life-long timberman and sawmill operator. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved camping, family vacations and was a race fan. He dearly loved his dog, Olivia.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene (Edith) McCune and Frank (Judy) McCune.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mabel; brothers Lewis McCune of Cairo, WV, Bill McCune of Cairo, WV, and Jack McCune of Harrisville, WV; sisters Oma (Dave) Bailey of Harrisville, WV, Linda (Don) Hendershot of Harrisville, WV, and Dianne (Mark) Farnsworth of Harrisville, WV; children Jennifer (Joel) Prosser of New Martinsville, WV, Jackie (Dave) Weekley of Sistersville, WV, Bill (Melissa) McIntyre of Pennsboro, WV, Contrina (Rob) Newman of Clarington, OH, Danny (April) McCune Jr. of Middlebourne, WV, and Adrien Smith of Pennsboro, WV; 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1pm, Monday, February 13, 2023, at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home in Pennsboro, WV with Olin Dale Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Pt. Pleasant Cemetery on Oxford Road in Doddridge County, WV. Visitation will be 6pm-8pm on Sunday, at the funeral home.
