James Keith Richards


James Keith Richards, 77 of Salem went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport.  He was born on October 16, 1945 at Tenmile, Harrison County a son of the late Aundrel Everett “Slick” and Edith Leviecia Freeland Richards.  On November 2, 1984 he married Anna Belle Gaskins Richards who survives.

 Those left to cherish his memories are his best daughter, Marty Thomas, Barrackville, his sons, Daniel Richards, Salem, Keith Richards, IN, Joshua Richards, KY, two step sons, Kent Price, Salem, Vance Price, Glenville, seven grandchildren, David, Brian, Megan, Josylnne Richards, Frank, Gabriel and Paris Thomas, four step grandchildren, Kelsi Webb, Kira Lett, Lexie and Emily Price, seven great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren, one sister, Sandra Chipps (Dick), NC, several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Lykens, nephew, Mike Lykens and a grandson Jeremiah Richards.

 Mr. Richards was a 1964 graduate of Doddridge County High School.  He was a member of the Welcome Baptist Church on Big Battle.  He was employed by Sutter Roofing, Harvey Glass Factory and was a journeyman lineman for Harrison Rural Electrification Association Inc. James was also a member of Salem Volunteer Fire Department.  His hobbies include: hunting, fishing, camping, Bluegrass Music, gardening and food preservation..James loved to crack jokes and pull pranks to make people smile.

 Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Monday, February 6, 2023 and 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bob Marino presiding.  Interment will follow in Center Point Cemetery.  The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 4-8 p.m.  Expressions of sympathy may be extended to the family at www.harbertfuneralhome.com.  Harbert Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Richards family.
