Behold, I Make All Things New

Behold, I Make All Things New

Albert Farley

2023 has arrived, and we are praying that the New Year will bring a better life for all of us!  What a great revolution would occur if only the world would receive, believe, and obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ!  Mt 28:18-20; Rom 16:15, 16.  Jesus offers us love, joy, peace, happiness, and hope!

In Revelation 21:5, Jesus Christ said, “Behold, I make all things new.”  What are these new things of which Jesus spoke?  I pray you will be interested.  God has offered them to you. What a great difference you can make in your life, your family, our nation, and the world.

We Can Become a New Creation.  We can be born again and have a fresh, new beginning.  John 3:3-5.  “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”  2 Cor 5:17.  Through faith, when we die to sin and are buried with Christ in baptism, we can arise to walk in newness of life!  Rom 6:1-4.

We Can Be a Part of the New Covenant of Christ.  The old covenant was made with the Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob through Moses with the nation of Israel.  It was broken by God’s people, and God promised to make a new one in Christ!  Jeremiah 31:31-34.  It is better in every way.  Heb 8:6.  It has a better hope, Heb 7:19.  It has better promises, Heb 8:6.  It is established with a better sacrifice – the death of the Only Begotten Son of God!  Mt 26:28.

We Can Walk In the New and Living Way.  Heb 10:15-22.  In process of the new birth, our hearts are sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies are washed with pure water!  Mk 16:15, 16; Acts 2:36-38; 22:16.  We enter through the narrow gate and begin our walk on the narrow way that leads to life eternal!  Mt 7:13, 14.

We Can Live By Christ’s New Commandment.  In Christ we are to love one another as He has loved us!  Jn 13:34-35.  His love extends to all men.  He said, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

We Can Wear a New Name.  In this life we can wear the precious name of Christ.  Isa 62:2; Acts 11:26; 26:28.  “Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.”  1 Peter 4:15,16.  In eternity, we will be given a new name.  Rev 3:11-12.

We Can Look for New Heavens and a New Earth.  This universe will someday be dissolved and pass away.  The earth and the works in it will be burned up at the end of time.  The heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat.  2 Pet 3:9-13.  However, Jesus promised, “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”  Jn 14:1-6.  Paul and Peter said this hope, this inheritance, is laid up and reserved in heaven for us.  Col 1:5; 1 Pet 1:4.

We Can Sing a New Song Before the Throne of God in Heaven!  Rev 5:9; 14:4.  When the Lord invites all of the faithful into His everlasting kingdom in heaven, they will join the great multitude which no man can number, singing a new song of praises to the One Who was slain to redeem them by His blood!  God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.  There will be no more death, sorrow, crying, or pain, “for the former things are passed away!”  Rev 7:9.  “Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.”  Rev 22:14.

How will you use this New Year?
