Kathy Winkelmann

Kathy was born April 3, 1959 to Ann and the late August “George” Pavis of Euclid, Ohio. She married the love of her life, Bruce Winkelmann, on June 17, 1988.

She was predeceased by her father, George in 2014 and husband Bruce in 2022. 

Kathy is survived by her loving Daughter, Faith Winkelmann of Huntington and her step Daughter Valerie (Ben) Wunderly of Morehead City, NC, also step grandson, Luke.

Kathy was one of 8 loud, loving siblings: Barbara (Tony, deceased) Stipich of Willoughby, OH; Patricia (Dominic) Iacobacci of Willoughby, OH; August “Chip” (Cindy) Pavis Jr of Wooster, OH; Mary (Kelly) Egbert of Rockledge, FL; John (Phyllis) Pavis of Blairsville, GA; Robert (Shelly) Pavis of Painesville, OH; and Janice (Mike) Cackowski of Willoughby, OH, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Kathy was a homemaker since her daughter Faith was young. She also worked with Dick Norris as a bookkeeper and as staff at the Herald Record under the late Virginia Nicholson. She was a member of Real Life Ministries Church where she and Bruce volunteered for many projects to help the church and the community. They both didn’t know a stranger in the community they called home for over 30 years. She and Bruce were loved and will be jointly missed by everyone.

Kathy’s family appreciate the love and support of the West Union community. 

Private ceremony will be held with family at the Veteran’s National Cemetery at a later date. 

Hayden Lee Greenlief

Hayden Lee Greenlief, 74, of New Milton, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 in Clarksburg at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center.  He was born on January 6, 1948 in Coxs Mill, WV, a son of the late Russell Aron and Pauline Post Greenlief.

Hayden is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Janet Irene Gribble Greenlief; four children, Chad Lee Greenlief of Weston, Matthew Taylor Greenlief of New Milton, Nicole Annette Rector and husband Chad of Lost Creek and Heather Renee Greenlief of New Milton; two grandchildren, Katelyn Brook Rector and Chaslynn Faith Greenlief; four siblings, Gary Greenlief and wife Nancy of Troy, WV, Charles Greenlief of Troy, WV, Patricia “Patty” Greenlief and companion Mike of NC and Betty Burton and husband Waiteman “Bud” of Weston; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Hayden preceded in death by four siblings, Helen Weaver, Jean McCartney, Homer and Russell Greenlief.

Hayden proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War serving two tours. Following his time in the service he became a truck driver for the West Virginia Department of Highways. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and was a jack of all trades.

Raymond “Ray” Douglas Carder. JR.

Raymond “Ray” Douglas Carder, Jr., 65, of Salem, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at his residence with family by his side.  He was born on March 19, 1957 in Lumberport, a son of the late Raymond Douglas Carder, Sr. and Joann Wilmoth Carder.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of thirty-eight years, Clarissa Ann Patrick Carder, whom he married on February 3, 1995; six children, Chelsey and her fiancée Shawn of West Milford, Jonathan and his fiancée Merry Kate of Wolf Summit, Brady and his fiancée Brandi of Salem, Ginny of Clarksburg, Rusty and his wife Whitney of Florida and Brittany Ritter of Parkersburg; nine  grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one brother Roger Carder and his wife Colleen of Enterprise; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by twin daughters, Barbiejo and Livianna Carder; one brother, Rodney Carder.

Ray worked for many places over the years including the Creasey Company as well as Anchor Hocking, where he was a security guard.  He enjoyed music and played guitar in several fairs and festivals. Ray was a very talented musician and gifted singer, and if ask who was the best singer around, the answer would be Ray Carder without a doubt.

Douglas Patrick Eneix

Douglas Patrick Eneix, 76 of West Union passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at his residence. He was born July 2, 1946 in Washington DC, son of the late Wayne Frederick and Rose Mary Shaw Eneix.

 Douglas served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Du Page County Sheriff’s Department as a police officer in Du Page, IL and Norfolk Police Department in Norfolk, VA. He also volunteered with the Shirley Fire Department for five and a half years. He loved collecting model trains and model cars, along with being outdoors. Douglas was Past President of Greater Clarksburg Kennel Club.

Douglas is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Blazej Eneix; one daughter, Laurie Eneix of Myakka City, FL; and one sister, Linda Moe and husband David of Oakland, MD; several close family friends.

In addition to his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Eneix; one brother, James Eneix.

Per Douglas’s wishes he will be cremated. Private Graveside Service will be held in Beallsville, PA at a later date.
