William Henry Cole, Jr. 


William Henry Cole, Jr. passed away on November 8, 2022 in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport.  He was born at New Milton, Doddridge County on May 18, 1938 a son of the late William Henry Cole and Brennice Hull Cole.  

 He is survived by sons, William Henry Cole III and companion Brenda of Canaan Valley, William Brian Cole (Betsy), and Rebecca Jane Morris (Terry) both of Buckhannon, eight grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, three brothers, James E. Cole (Rose), Ray L. Cole (Marilyn) both of Salem, Robert G. Cole (Brenda) MI, and several nieces and nephews.  One infant granddaughter preceded him in death.

 Mr. Cole was retired from Westinghouse Corp, as a Tool & Die Maker.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going out to eat with friends.  Bill loved to dance.

 Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert Marino presiding.  Entombment will follow in the Everlasting Life Mausoleum, Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 5-8 p.m.  Expressions of sympathy may be extended to the family at www.harbertfuneralhome.com.  Harbert Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Cole family.

Robin Rene Reed

Robin Rene Reed, 65, of West Union, WV, went to be with her lord on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.  

Wife of David Reed and mother to Wayne and Marcie Reed. 

She was born September 9, 1957, a daughter of the late Owen Kisner and Katherine McCrobie. 

Robin was a wonderful wife and mother. She loved cooking, riding motorcycles, and anything that included her family, especially reunions. 

She is survived by her loving husband, David Reed; children, Wayne Reed, and Marcie Reed; sisters, Diana Bess (Jim), Jennifer Paxton (Brian), Marsha Coon (Robert), and Marcy Heller; brothers, Harold Reger, Steve Regar (Sarah), Howard Reger (Esther), and Hershel Reger; and sister-in-law, Catherine McCrobie.  

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Charles McCrobie; and sister-in-law, Debbie Reger. Christine Reger.

In accordance with Robin’s wishes, she will be cremated. McCullough Rogers Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

George Annias Robinson

George Annias Robinson. 83, of Salisbury, NC passed away November 6, 2022 at Novant Rowan Medical Center. 

Mr. Robinson was born November 8, 1938 in Salem, WV to the late Lester Lee Robinson and Clara Ann May. 

George was a proud veteran of the United States Army where he attained the rank of SFC serving during the Vietnam War. He worked as an Engineer Equipment Repairman.  He was awarded the Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal Fifth Award, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with five service stars, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal with “60” Device and four overseas service bars.  He loved going hunting, fishing, and watching his favorite shows, The Andy Griffith Show and Gunsmoke.  He also loved collecting CB radios and talking to old buddies. His handle over the radio was Country boy.  He was a kind gentleman who loved playing jokes on family members whenever he could.

He is predeceased by his parents Lester Lee Robinson and Clara Ann May, a grandson Timothy Gene, siblings Gene John Robinson (Betty), Iwana Gaskins (Frank). Albert Lee Robinson (Jeanette), Delbert Ray Robinson, Harold Keith Robinson and Katherine May LeMasters (Guilford).

George is survived by his wife Barbara S. Robinson and his seven children Kim and Randy Bell of Rockwell, Timothy Pratt and John Pratt of WV, Pam and Raye Brothers of Mount Ulla, Michael and Chandra Robinson of Ohio, Oliver and Jamie Robinson of California and Eric and Jacquie Hinson of Salisbury. 17 Grandchildren and 29 Great Grandchildren. He also leaves behind siblings, Barbara Ann Roig (Eugene), Judith Marie Stables (Bud), and William Edison Robinson (Kathy).

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Summersett Memorial Chapel with Rev. Michael Rakes officiating. Burial will follow a 2:00 pm at Salisbury National Cemetery with military honors provided by the U.S. Army.

Janie E. Poe (Towner)

In Memory of Janie E. Poe (Towner)

Janie E. Poe, 66 of New Martinsville, WV, left this world on Thursday, October 27, 2022, after her battle with cancer. She was truly a fighter of her disease.

Janie was born January 13, 1956, in Warren, OH, daughter of the last Corleen Jo Towner. 

She worked at Wetzel County Hospital for twenty-five years. Janie loved working in her flower beds and saving every animal that came to her and was a member of St. Ann’s Episcopal Church

Janie is survived by her loving husband, Time Poe, and her three children and grandchildren: Shawn Price and his three children, Malayna, Savennah, and Trenton Price; Jamie Price and his two Children, Hayley, and Chase Price; Melissa Shephard and her partner, Eric Hall, and her three children, Brandon and Hannah Snyder and Hallie Shepherd.

Janie is also survived by her two sisters, Sandra Bonnell and Dorotha Wolf.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her only brother, Larry Michael “Dink” Myer.

Friends received noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2022, at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S. Bridge St., New Martinsville, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday October 31, 2022. Burial to follow in Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV.

Charles “Chucky” E. Yeager, 

Charles “Chucky” E. Yeager, Jr., 54 of Jarvisville WV went to be with the Lord after a long hard-fought battle with cancer on Sunday, November 13, 2022. He was born December 16, 1968, the son of Kathryn Sue Bolte Yeager Wallace and husband Dick Wallace, Salem and the late Charles E Yeager Sr. In addition to his father, Chucky was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bernard and Bertha Bolte; paternal grandparents, Jesse Wade and Hazel Yeager; his uncle, James O. Yeager. In addition to his mother, Chucky is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Melanie Miller Yeager; two brothers, Bernard Yeager of Bridgeport, Douglas Yeager and wife Cecile, of Broadlands, VA; two sisters, Kathy Baisden and husband Brian of Leesburg, VA, and Annette DeBarr and husband Paul of West Milford; nephews, Austin and Brett Baisden, Blake Yeager, Christian Yeager; nieces, Clarissa Yeager, Mia Yeager and Ashley Keith; aunts, Linda Davis and husband Bob of Salem, Shelba Jean Zirkle of Salem, Marlene Cheuvront of Sycamore; uncle, Blaine Yeager of Jarvisville; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sharon and Dave Miller of Bridgeport. Chuck’s long-time friends and extended family Steve and Dolla Matthey, Misty Edwards and wife Tracie, Stephanie and Rob Helmick and their daughters, Mia and Clarissa whose love and help was unmeasurable and appreciated more than they can ever know.  He graduated from South Harrison High School, Class of 1987 and attended Fairmont State Collee and received an associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Industrial Technology Chuck worked as an auto mechanic, Dominion Hope Gas, and then worked at Amsted (formerly Union Carbide) for twenty-five years. Chuck was a compassionate person. He cared deeply about other people, especially those less fortunate and had a passion for the welfare of all animals. During Chucks employment at Amsted he was a Union Steward and a dedicated union member. Chuck cared deeply about his union brothers and sisters. Chuck battled cancer under the care of Dr. Swati Vishwanathan. We would like to express our gratitude to her for going above and beyond and the excellent care she gave to Chuck during his illness. We would also like to thank the staff, nurses and infusion workers for their excellent care and kindness. Following Chuck’s wishes he will be cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
