Arnold Gordon Krafft

Arnold Gordon Krafft, 80 of Brush Run, West Union went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, November 3, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on April 30, 1942 at Milroy, Braxton Co. a son of the late James Byron “Barney” and Genevieve Amelia Mollahan Krafft.  He is survived by his wife Juanita M. Carroll Krafft whom he married in 1976.

 Also surviving are, two step-sons, Kenneth Ray Bonnell and companion, Cindy, Bunker Hill, WV, Jeffrey Lynn Bonnell and wife Aretta, West Union, step grandchildren, Kayla and John Bonnell, step great grandchildren, Joshua Paul Lipscomb II,Raylyn Bonnell, Graelynn, Brinlee & Rhetton Bonnell, two sisters, Norma M. Krafft Beamer, FL, Judy Carroll Krafft (Kyle) Toms Brook, VA, one brother, Carl Delmas Krafft (Cindy) Greenville, SC, several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by siblings, Arden, Louis, Farrell, Lorena and Helen Krafft, Lola Beamer and Donna Long.

 Mr. Krafft was a graduate of Bristol High School.  After moving from Greenhill, Braxton Co. Arnold lived on Turtle Tree Fork on the Harrison/Doddridge County line. For several years Arnold served as a Circuit Preacher fo the Methodist and throughout his life he continued to serve the Lord thru his singing.  He was retired from the Harrison County Board of Education as a bus driver with 32 year’s service.  Arnold enjoyed farming, mowing grass and weed eating and working puzzles.

 Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 56 Front St. West Union on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Lipscomb presiding.  Interment will follow in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 2-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Monday until time of service.  

Terry Lee Smith

Terry Lee Smith, 53, of West Union, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022 in Bridgeport at United Hospital Center.  He was born on November 17, 1968 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Terry Keith Smith and Lorrena Cline Smith.

He is survived by his son, Caden Smith of Salem; one brother, Randy Smith of West Union; and his uncles and aunts.  In addition, he is also survived by his former spouse, Lori Davisson Smith; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Terry was preceded in death by his son, Logan Smith.

He was a 1986 graduate of Doddridge High School and was a meat cutter for IGA and Shop and Save until he had to retire.  He enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time and helping his son Caden. He was an avid WVU Mountaineer Fan and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. 

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home – Salem, 1999 W Main Street Salem, WV, on Monday, November 7, 2022 from 3 -7PM. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 11:00 am with Pastor Chad Ash officiating. Interment will follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, West Union. Vicky Lee Cutright


Vicky Lee Cutright, 72, of West Union, WV, gained her wings on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at United Hospital Center, in Bridgeport, WV, holding the hand of the ones she loved. 

She was born August 7, 1950, in Clinton, IA, a daughter of the late Jean Giddings and Glenn LaFavre. 

Vicky was a very loving and compassionate person. This led to many years of volunteer work, running, and managing a non-profit thrift store for over 20 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren who always called her “Mamaw.” She liked to watch the birds and her flowers bloom, while tending to her garden. She also greatly enjoyed fishing and camping when she was still able. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Allen Cutright; children, Angela Greathouse, Amber Farley, Tina Pearce, Kenny Dudley Jr., and Michael Dudley; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Though you may be gone, you will never be forgotten. Always in our hearts. We love you. 

In accordance with Vicky’s wishes she will be cremated. McCullough Roger Funeral Home in Pennsboro, WV is assisting the family with the arrangements.
