Commission Holds Brief Meeting 

At 4:00 PM on September 20, 2022 Shawn Glaspell, President of the Doddridge County Commission called the Commission’s regular meeting to order after holding a moment of silence and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. 

The Commission approved the minutes to the previous meeting. 

Under Public Comment Glaspell. For the Ash and Mayle  family, thanked the Doddridge County Sheriff’s Office and the DCAA for their response and the efforts made for  Garrison Mayle.   

In the absence of Jennifer Wilt, a request was made by letter to place Thresa Knight on to the Doddridge County EDA Board was considered by the Commission. Her request was approved. 

The Commission also approved renewing the Global Science and Technology Courthouse Basic Ordering Agreement for the local area network & administration. 

David King presented the bids received for the furniture for the New Annex. This bid was placed  for advertisement in the Clarksburg and Charleston newspapers. 

Three Companies placed their bids as follows: Capital Business in the amount of $216,006.61 it was noted the larger items were not bid on, there were other stipulations and storage would have to be paid; Tom Sexton bid $313,275.88 this bid was an all or nothing bid; and Select Office services (who has provided service in the past to the Courthouse)– $238,939.34 – This bid contained all of the larger items, TV’s will be at cost; there were a few missing items but these items could be purchased at a lower cost from other places.  

Shawn Glaspell made the motion to approve the recommended Select Office Service to provide the equipment. Motion was approved. 

David King CoW, reported that the hallway wallpaper had been discussed and they had come up with the idea of using a wallpaper that would be covered with historic pictures from the County. Patricia Harris, President of the Historical Society  and Tammy Beamer, The Herald Record spoke to gathering some pictures together for this project. More will be discussed in the future about this project. 

He went onto report: The Church Street sidewalk is to be worked on this week; Outside walls are  at 90% completion; Parking Lot is to grade; Mechanicals are still moving strong and the Health Department project has been re-bid and will be opened on Friday. 

George Eidel, reported there was one new floodplain permit #620 – 430 Willow Lane @ Cabin Run and that he has participated in the Oil and Gas Round-table.

Glaspell also noted for the DCAA that their Primary Account had a balance of: $397,166.65 and the income of: $5,600.50.

There were no Budget Revisions. 

The Commission approved four Exonerations. 

The Meeting was adjourned at 4:17PM.
