Cindy Welch, Candidate for Doddridge County Commission 

Cindy Welch of Morgan’s Run Road, West Union, is a candidate for a seat on the Doddridge County Commission. Cindy attended Mountain State College and Fairmont State College majoring in Business with an emphasis on Accounting.  In her early career, she worked at Colin Anderson Center in St Marys, and as executive legal secretary to David Frame Law Offices in Clarksburg  In 1989, she was employed by CNG where Cindy was awarded the prestigious CNG Volunteer Service award.   In 1997, she was selected to participate in the Advanced Information Technology and Computer Systems Training Program, and continued to excel in her career to achieve the role of Senior Business Analyst for Dominion.  She retired from Dominion with 30 years service.

Cindy is the Incoming President of the Doddridge County Chamber of Commerce, serves as member of the Doddridge County Economic Development Authority, Doddridge’s WVU Brownfields, Abandoned and Dilapidated (WVUBAD) Buildings Initiative, and the Doddridge Lion’s Club.  Previously, she was one of the founding members of the School Day Plus Program, and a leader for Girls Scouts and 4-H Clubs.

Cindy is a partner of the Main Street Estate, our local Bed and Breakfast, right here in West Union.  She also owns her real estate business, and is owner of the Mountain Berry Farm on Morgan’s Run Road. 

She has three daughters, Julie (Rusty) Stevens of Locust, NC, Leandra Welch (Graham Carroll), Dublin, Ireland, and Chelsea Welch, Washington, DC.  

When asked why she is seeking the seat, Welch said, “Since retiring, I have more time to devote to improving our beloved Doddridge County.  My accounting background and business experience are well suited to the tasks of Commissioner.” She is looking forward to talking with as many voters as possible in the coming weeks.
