On August 11, 2022 at 4:15pm, Ronnie Travis, represented by William Forbes, Esq. went before The Honorable Judge Thomas Bedell for Arraignment of the indictment of Embezzlement and Fraudulent Schemes at the Harrison County Courthouse.
For Travis, Forbes entered a plea of not guilty.
Bedell did not read off the penalties, associated with the charges but Forbes indicated to the positive they had been read by both he and the Travis.
Bedell noted that the remaining hearings and trial would be held in Doddridge County because he felt that transparency was important for the County citizens. He also noted that additional Jurors had been contacted and would be from Doddridge County.
Hearing and Trial Dates, Jury Selection dates were presented by Bedell. Forbes informed the Bedell that the dates selected may have to be continued due to scheduling conflicts with an older case that is in process. Bedell took note of this and the dates offered stand unless the conflict with the other case takes place.
Prior to ending this hearing, Bedell decided for Travis to continue the past bond amount of $5000 cash or 10% to a Bail Bondsman, as it was set in Magistrate Court and informed Travis that he would be required to follow the agreed rules for Probation, reporting into the Harrison County
