Town of West Union REGULAR MEETING July 11, 2022 Lions Club Building, West Union, WV 26456

Meeting was called to order by Mayor Kortni Sandridge @ 5:00 PM.
Present: Mayor Kortni Sandridge, Council Members: Jim Musgrave, Jim Brannam, Theresa Knight, and Donnie Dotson. Recorder: Melody Gray. Robin A. Valentine, and Douglas Cox.
Guests: Jason Heflin, George Eidel, and Sheena Hunt.
Prayer: A moment of silence was observed.
Pledge: Led by Mayor Sandridge.
Approval of Minutes: Teresa Knight made a motion to approve the regular meeting minutes. Jim Musgrave seconded the motion. Unanimous approval.
Approval of Invoices: Jim Musgrave made a motion to approve the invoices. Jim Brannam seconded the motion. Unanimous approval.
Police Report: None
Maintenance Supervisor Report/Water & Leak Log: Doug Cox said we are at a 14% water loss. Which is a lot better than it has been for a while. They are working on getting the pump up and running at the water plant. Maintenance crew is working on the Con Costilow problem.
Delegations:
Region VI – Sheena Hunt: Discussion on all the projects. They are all shooting for August 10th to be ready.
CEC – Doe Run: Waiting on paperwork at this time.
Also, Antero is requesting a water line put in to a building on Long Run. Wants a 6” line then a 2” line to the building. Around 5000 ft. Antero is willing to pay for the whole thing. Need more details and if the Town will do it or who. Maybe PSD. Will look into this more.
Old Business:
Training for Leak Detector and Jetter: Approved during June Meeting.
Con Costilow: Maintenance and a couple of the Council meet. Walked around and looked at the problem. Discussed the problem. Some of the problems are under a resident’s driveway. Maybe put in a channel. Maybe build a concrete casting. First will start on ditching along the road. If use a metal detector to see if there is still a drain there and is justcovered up. Needs more planning on fixing the problems.
Jim Donely – Follow up with curb: There is nothing to report at this time. Jim Musgrave made a motion to table. Teresa Knight seconded the motion. Unanimous approval.
Tina Richards – Driveway off Wood St: Jim Musgrave made a motion to take this off the agenda. Jim Brannam seconded the motion. Unanimous approval.
City Park – Fencing: Teresa Knight made a motion to take this off the agenda. Jim Musgrave seconded the motion. Unanimous approval.
PSD – Water Agreement from Attorneys: As of right now it is all in the Attorney’s hands.
Cell Phones – Ordered – Contract: The Cell phones should be in the office tomorrow. Can give to employees. They will need to sign a contract or what is expected of them to have the cell phones. Jim Musgrave made a motion to approve this. Jim Brannam seconded the motion. Unanimous approval.
New Business:
George Eidel: He is was there to let the Town know that they are down grading the rating of the Greenwood Fire Department. Which means the residents insurance premiums will be going up. The Town needs to show that the fire hydrants are inspected regularly. The Council will check with Maintenance for the Hydrant Book.
Farmers Market and FRN – Amanda Gagnon: Jim Musgrave made a motion to table this. Jim Brannam seconded the motion. Unanimous approval
