It is Our Choice

Though the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vines, though the yield of the olive fails and the fields produce no food, though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls, yet I will [choose to] rejoice in the Lord; I will [choose to] shout in exultation in the [victorious] God of my salvation! – Habakkuk 3:17 (AMP)

It’s not so much a matter of our adverse circumstances and the difficult situations we find ourselves in from time to time that dictates our walk with God, but rather, it comes down to the ‘choices’ we make when life deals us these moments. We have a choice, whether we dwell on the negativity in our lives (or even in the world) or choose to lift the name of Jesus in the ‘midst’ of all that’s wrong. It really does come down to a matter of choice.

Although everything may go wrong and things don’t happen the way we planned, we can still rejoice in the Lord and offer up a sacrifice of praise. When we struggle with one problem after another and things seem to be spiralling downwards, we can still choose to rejoice in the Lord—communing with Him. . No matter how bad it gets, God has got it! He will always show us the way out and will provide the means in which we can pull ourselves out of the difficulties we are in.

He knows what’s going on and when we continually, and persistently, bring it before Him and choose to trust Him in it, He will turn it around for our good (Romans 8:28).

So, no matter how bad our lives get, we need to give it over to Him and choose Him over our circumstances. He can show us a way when there seems to be no way and He will never fail us!
