APPOINTMENT OF DODDRIDGE COUNTY MAGISTRATE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE…..(November 12, 2001)  Judge Timothy Sweeney, Judge of the Third Judicial Circuit, is pleased to announce the appointment of Kathryn (Beverlin) Titus for the current vacancy in the office of Doddridge County Magistrate.

“It is always challenging to search for a replacement of an elected official when the resignation happens suddenly,” stated Judge Sweeney.  “You want to do the right thing and bring in someone that can become a part of your judicial team that can perform the duties of the position quickly and efficiently.”  “We have found that in Mrs. Titus with her educational background and her court experience.”

Mrs. Titus is a graduate of American University in Washington, DC with a degree in Business.  While in Washington, she served as the assistant director of media education for the U. S. Chamber of Commerce and as the executive manager for the National Association Executives Club.

Mrs. Titus is a Doddridge County native and a graduate of Doddridge County High School.   She was pleased when she returned to Doddridge County in 1990 where her first full-time position was as the chief deputy clerk for Dwight Moore, Doddridge County Circuit Clerk.   Following, she worked 5 years as a magistrate assistant in Harrison County.  For the past 20 years, she has been the executive director for the Greater Clarksburg Convention & Visitors Bureau where she retired in October, 2020.

“With her educational background and her work experience,” said Sweeney, “we feel she will be a valuable asset to the magistrate court system and is equipped to hit the ground running.”  “We are pleased that she has chosen to serve the people of Doddridge County in this capacity.”

A swearing-in ceremony will take place on Friday, December 3 at 11:30 a.m. in the court room of the Doddridge County Courthouse in West Union.  We invite all citizens of Doddridge to attend.
