Patricia LaVaughn Mulvay

Patricia LaVaughn Mulvay, 85, of 3667 Short Run Road, Pennsboro, WV, Deep Valley Community, departed this life September 22, 2021 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Patty was born April 3, 1936 to Wilford and Gaynell Fletcher Cogar. She is survived by husband of 69 years, Edwin “Delmer” Mulvay, daughter Sharon Nutter, and son Harlond Mulvay (Myra) all of Deep Valley.

Patty worked for 11 years in the garment factory in West Union, followed by self-employment in the family business running Valley View Farms Dairyette and Market. She was a hard worker all her life, hands never still, raising many beautiful plants and flowers and caring for her family faithfully. She was an awesome cook, always prepared to set another plate at the table for anyone who came. She was a dedicated member of the Arnold’s Creek Christian Church, Deep Valley.

Also surviving are many offspring that she was very proud of: Grandchildren-Dean Nutter (Kristal), Janean Oliverio (Gregg), Christina Mason (Chad), Chasity Ash (Matt), April Parsons (Tim), Annie Pratt (Tim), and JR Mulvay. Great grandchildren- Caden Nutter (Eva), Kyle Mason, Brooke Mason, Broc Oliverio, Megan Kinney (Ryan), Dillon Ash (Dixie), Zetta Mustoe (Terry), Austin Parsons, Whitney Parsons, and Emily Pratt (Zac Cathers). Seven great-great grandchildren. Brothers surviving are Gene Cogar (Carol), Larry Cogar (Aris), Gail Cogar (Pat), and Raymond Cogar (Sharon). She was predeceased by granddaughters, Melanie and Tina Mulvay, great grandson, Eric Caine, by siblings, Lemoyne, Donald, Kenneth, Roy, Robert, Ronald Cogar, Geneva Shepherd and Bonita Fairbee.

Funeral services will be 2pm, Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home in Pennsboro, WV with Rev. Lemoyne Horner officiating. Burial will follow the service in the West Union Masonic Memorial Park near West Union, WV. Visitation will be from 4pm-8pm on Saturday, at the funeral home.

The Mulvay family respectfully requests that masks be worn while at the funeral home.

Anna Mae Randolph

Anna Mae Randolph, 86 of West Union departed this life on Monday,

September 27 2021 in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. She was born July 29, 1935 at Shirley a daughter of the late Cecil and Mable Kimball Bunting. On 1959 she married Leroy Jefferson Randolph who preceded her in death in 1978.

Surviving are one son, Vernon Randolph and wife Lisa, Pennsboro, one granddaughter, Ashley Marie Sheets and husband Jonathan, great grandchildren, Sawyer and Landon Sheets, Sebastian and Brier Randolph, one sister Donna Randolph, West Union, three brothers, David Joe Bunting, West Union, Cecil Ray Bunting, Smithburg and Donald Ray Bunting, Vale, NC and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Marjorie and Vivian Randolph, six sisters, Alice Marie Sisson, Patsy Lea Trader, Linda Lou Randolph, Maxine Schoolcraft, Clara Fae Jones and Diane Kay Randolph, three brothers, Victor, John and Phillip Bunting.

Anna had a sweet heart and was willing to help anyone. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister and will be sadly missed more than she could ever imagine.

Haroldene K. Helmick

Haroldene K. Helmick, 75 of Salem departed this life on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 in her residence.  She was born on August 31, 1946 in Clarksburg a daughter of the late Harold and Velsa Ford Kimble.  Twice married she was preceded in death by her first husband Larry Glaspell and her second husband Jimmie Helmick.

   Surviving are step children, Richard A. Helmick and wife Yvonne, Gulf Shores, AL, David L. Helmick, Williamsburg, VA,. Penny Ash and husband Victor, Salem, several cousins and a special care-giver and cousin Chad Hayes, her feline friend “Bailey”.

   Mrs. Helmick was retired from CNG as supervisor of Office Services.  She was Past Director of Salem Area Chamber of Commerce.  Haroldene served as Sec/Treasure/Assistant to the General Chairman Apple Butter Festival for 31 years. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

   Graveside services will be conducted in K of P Memorial Park, Salem on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dave Carpenter presiding.  Expression of sympathy may be extended to the family at www.harbertfuneralhome.com.  Harbert Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Helmick family.
